October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Our pastors expect nothing in return for their service. But with all that they do to shepherd us, wouldn’t it be nice to do something for them as well? Tickets are now available for the Marriage Strong Conference on Friday, Oct 20 (6:30 to 8:45 PM) and Saturday, Oct 21 (8:15 AM to 12:30 PM). No matter where you are in your marriage, this seminar will help strengthen your relationship. Join us as Drs. Paul and Virginia Friesen from Home Improvement Ministries lead us through 4 sessions. Operation Christmas Child by Samaritan's Purse will be launching on Sunday, Oct 22. Fill a shoebox with needed items and small toys to help a hurting child and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them. Boxes are due back no later than Sunday, Nov 12. Click here for How to Pack a Shoebox.
We're having another Outreach Sewing Project, Sunday, Oct 22, after the 2nd service, to make dresses for Operation Christmas Child boxes. Bring a brown bag lunch and join us! All experience levels, middle school age and up are welcome. Sewing machines and materials will be available. If you have a machine, please bring it. If you would like to contribute required material: 1-1/4 yard 40” cotton fabric (washed), 1/2” ready made single fold bias tape, 1/4” elastic, thread. On Sunday, Oct 29, at 7 PM you’re invited to join us for Reflections: A Service of Scripture & Song, led by our choir and based on the biblical truths of the Reformation, which celebrates its 500 year anniversary this year. Ask a friend to join you and come reflect on the five “solas” of the reformation: Scripture alone, faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.
Back by popular demand: our annual Harvest Party will be held on Tuesday, Oct 31, at 6:30 PM. This free, family friendly event is all treats, no tricks! Come for games, lots of candy, and a lot of fun. Costumes welcome!
Because the Harvest Party is coming soon, we need candy! There is a bin under the mailboxes for your donations and there will be a sign-up sheet at the Info Booth and Community Board with service opportunities for the event.
